Singapore was awarded with the honorable chance to host the inarguable youth olympic games in the summer of 2010.
The committee has set up a logo competition and is open to everyone.
Fairly simple rules and guidelines
- The logo should cover three broad themes:
(i) Youthful spirit
(ii) Values of Olympism
(iii) The Singapore identity - The logo should work well in a variety of applications from stationery to digital media, clothing, outdoor banners, commemorative items, etc.
- A distinctive element.
- The name of the City and the year of the Youth Olympic Games, namely the wordmark “City Year” (i.e. Singapore 2010).
- The Olympic symbol (i.e. the five rings).
- The wordmark “Youth Olympic Games”.
We are more than a garden city and this is represented here.
The young buds look like flame or a city that is growing from this little red dot.
These flags are what we see on special occasions, expos and celebrations !
Celebrate with a bang !
Sparkling fireworks with a celebrating city in the backdrop
Olympic colored ribbons form a torch.
Very asian and simple design. More about font than real design.

I will go for a,b, e. If for animation, b & e will be better.

To add on to my comment,
try to make logo A bigger, can u can barely see the green thingy on top, the green thing can symbolize the title “green city”
B1, is good for animation becoz, they has more details to work on,
for the line, u can start with a dot curving in to the draw the line symbolizing land, let the 4 poles rise up, then
let the 4 flags raising up( symbolizing the 4 main races)
or butterfly flying in to lean on pole.
E, is also good for animation, coz u can make it like the ribbon spinning upwards, the fire lighting up at the top once it reaches.
c & d &f dun really have a story to tell.
Try to make ur logo tell a story.
So yeah, that is y i chosen b & e.
Jazon
the problem with “occasion” is that there is no traces of the “Singapore” element in it….
